คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี เผยแพร่ความเชี่ยวชาญด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศสู่เวทีสื่อระดับนานาชาติ ผ่านการให้สัมภาษณ์สถานีข่าว Al Qahera News ประเทศอียิปต์

ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธนเชษฐ วิสัยจร อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาการเมืองและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี ให้สัมภาษณ์ในรายการ Al-Alam Sharqan ของ Al Qahera News สถานีโทรทัศน์ข่าวจากประเทศอียิปต์ โดยแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองทางวิชาการเกี่ยวกับข้อพิพาททางทะเลระหว่างไทยกับกัมพูชา กระบวนการไกล่เกลี่ยภายใต้อนุสัญญาสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยกฎหมายทะเล (UNCLOS) และประเด็นความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคงในภูมิภาค

การสัมภาษณ์ครั้งนี้สะท้อนบทบาทของคณาจารย์คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี ในการนำองค์ความรู้ด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ ภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ และการศึกษาพื้นที่ชายแดน มาวิเคราะห์สถานการณ์ร่วมสมัยที่มีความสำคัญต่อประเทศไทยและภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ โดยให้ความสำคัญกับกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ การเจรจาทางการทูต และแนวทางลดความตึงเครียดระหว่างประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน

มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานีตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่ยุทธศาสตร์ชายแดน และมีนักศึกษาจำนวนมากมาจากจังหวัดชายแดนไทย–กัมพูชา ได้แก่ อุบลราชธานี ศรีสะเกษ สุรินทร์ และบุรีรัมย์ ประเด็นความขัดแย้งระหว่างประเทศจึงมิใช่เพียงเรื่องของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างรัฐบาล แต่ยังเกี่ยวข้องโดยตรงกับชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ ความมั่นคง และโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจของประชาชนในพื้นที่

การให้สัมภาษณ์ในเวทีสื่อระดับนานาชาติครั้งนี้จึงตอกย้ำความเชี่ยวชาญของมหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานีในฐานะ มหาวิทยาลัยในพื้นที่ชายแดนที่เชื่อมโยงองค์ความรู้ทางวิชาการเข้ากับปัญหาและความต้องการของประชาชนในพื้นที่จริง พร้อมมีส่วนสนับสนุนการทำความเข้าใจสถานการณ์ การแสวงหาแนวทางแก้ไขปัญหา และการส่งเสริมสันติภาพในภูมิภาคอย่างยั่งยืน

Assistant Professor Dr Thanachate Wisaijorn, a faculty member in the Department of Politics and International Relations, Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University, was interviewed on Al-Alam Sharqan, a programme of Al Qahera News, an Egyptian news television channel.

The interview examined the Thailand–Cambodia maritime dispute, conciliation under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and regional security cooperation. It provided an opportunity to share academic perspectives on contemporary international affairs and the challenges of managing disputes between neighbouring countries.

The interview highlights the Faculty’s expertise in international relations, critical geopolitics and border studies, bringing academic analysis to issues of significance for Thailand and Southeast Asia. The discussion addressed the importance of international law, diplomatic engagement and peaceful approaches to reducing tensions between neighbouring states.

Located in a strategically important border region, Ubon Ratchathani University serves a student community that includes many students from Thailand’s border provinces adjoining Cambodia, including Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin and Buriram. International conflicts are therefore not merely matters of interstate relations; they also have direct implications for people’s livelihoods, security and economic opportunities in these communities.

This international media engagement further underscores the expertise of Ubon Ratchathani University as a university in a border region that connects academic knowledge with the real-world challenges faced by local communities. Through research, teaching and public engagement, the University contributes to a deeper understanding of regional developments, the search for practical solutions and the promotion of sustainable peace.
