On 11 October 2026, six students from the Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), led by Assistant Professor Dr Chantha Thanawatthanawong, who supervised the delegation, participated in the Third China-Cambodia-Thailand Track II Dialogue in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, the People’s Republic of China. The dialogue was organised by China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU).

Preparations for the dialogue were supported by Dr Kingkan Samnuanyen and Dr Titipol Phakdeewanich, who served as members of the working team in Thailand. They helped prepare briefing materials and provided guidance to the students before their departure, strengthening their understanding of the dialogue’s key issues and the context of the Thai-Cambodian border areas.

During the morning session, participants listened to proposals and perspectives presented by the Cambodian side. In the afternoon, the Thai side presented its proposals and exchanged views on the issues outlined in the meeting agenda. In the evening, representatives from China, Cambodia and Thailand held joint discussions to identify common ground and explore avenues for cooperation acceptable to all parties, with the aim of promoting mutual understanding and strengthening regional cooperation.

Participation in the dialogue provided UBU students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their international learning experience, deepen their understanding of international relations, negotiation and regional cooperation, and exchange perspectives with participants from different countries. The experience also supported the development of skills needed to engage critically with international issues and understand the role of dialogue in fostering constructive relations among countries.
