ในวันที่ 17 ธันวาคม 2566 ที่ผ่านมา คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี และ กลุ่มท้องถิ่นศึกษา (Local Studies Group) ร่วมกับ อดีตนักเรียนทุนสหรัฐอเมริกาภายใต้การสนับสนุนจาก YSEALI Unified, TUSSA และสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย ได้จัดโครงการ Youth of Mekong Forum ให้กับเยาวชนที่สนใจในเรื่องผลกระทบของการพัฒนาที่เกิดในแม่น้ำโขง

ในโครงการ มีกิจกรรมการฉายาหนังเรื่อง Multiverse of Mekong (แม่โขง-นฤมิต) ซึ่งเป็นหนังภาพยนต์กึ่งสารคดีที่บอกเล่าถึงปัญหาการสร้างเขื่อนในแม่น้ำโขง หลังจากนั้นมีการเสวนาเรื่องการพัฒนาแม่น้ำโขงในมุมมองในเรื่องการพัฒนาและผลกระทบต่อแม่น้ำโขงจากเจ้าหน้าที่นักการทูต กระทรวงต่างประเทศของไทย และเจ้าหน้าที่จากกระทรวงมหาดไทย และนักวิชาการ ในกิจกรรมสุดท้าย ผู้เยาวชนที่เข้าร่วมโครงการกว่า 40 คนได้มีการระดมความเห็นถึงปัญหาสำคัญที่เกิดขึ้นในแม่น้ำโขง ค้นหาสาเหตุของปัญหา และเสนอแนวทางแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในแม่น้ำโขง

On December 17, 2023, Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University and Local Studies Group (LGS), in collaboration with former US scholarship students under the support of YSEALI Unified, TUSSA and the US Embassy in Thailand organized “Youth of Mekong Forum” to youths interested in the impact of development on the Mekong River.

Within the forum, there was an activity to screen the movie “Multiverse of Mekong (Mekong-Naruemit)”, which is a semi-documentary film that tells the story about the problems of building dams on the Mekong River. Later, there was a discussion on the development of the Mekong River from a diplomatic official, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, an official from the Ministry of Interior and academics. Last, more than 40 youths participated in a brainstorming session to identify the important problems occurring in the Mekong River, and find the causes of the problems as well as the solutions to the problems.
